A likely No. 1 seed in this month’s boys bowling state playoffs already in hand, Brother Martin wrapped up an undefeated regular season Monday with a 26-1 victory over Pope John Paul II at Colonial Lanes in Harahan.

In wrapping up an eighth undefeated regular season in the last nine years, Crusaders coach Bruce Himbert used the opportunity to give many of his reserves significant action.

Sam Vollenweider led Brother Martin (12-0) with a 570 series, including games of 202 and 208, while Kade Chatelain had a 220 final game in the winning effort.

The playoff brackets will be announced on March 14, with early-round action on March 21 in Bossier City and March 22 at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner. If the Crusaders hold on to the top seed, they would bowl in Kenner along with the other 15 teams in the top half of the bracket.

Jack Kingman had a 182 middle game and 444 series for Pope John Paul (3-8), which ends its season Tuesday against Jesuit at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Archbishop Shaw 26, St. Therese 1: The Eagles closed the regular season by defeating the Phoenix at Westside Lanes in Harvey.

Jonathan Freeman had a 202 opening game as part of a 581 series to lead Shaw (11-1), which was third in the statewide power rankings entering Monday. Jonathan Arena had games of 207 and 208 and a 566 series.

Jonathan Mendez’ 443 series and Logan LeJeune’s 442 led St. Therese (2-9).

Archbishop Rummel 23, Holy Cross 4: The Raiders ended the regular season with a convincing win over the Tigers at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

Rummel (9-3), which entered the day at No. 17 in the power rankings, used all 10 bowlers on its roster. Cayden Munster’s middle-game 203 was the best of the day.

Jackson Haro’s final-game 170 capped a 462 series for Holy Cross (6-6), which likely needed a win in its finale to reach the playoffs. The Tigers were in the 32nd and final spot in the bracket prior to Monday.

Kenner Discovery 24, Crescent City Christian 3: The Swamp Owls were dominant in closing the regular season with a victory over the Pioneers at AMF.

Victor Cortes had a 221 final game as part of a 567 series to lead Kenner Discovery (7-5), which was 37th in the power rankings entering Monday.

Chaz Emery’s 197 final game paced Crescent City (1-9).
