Area Boys Prep Basketball Report for Wednesday, Dec. 12

Don’t look now but Pearl River may be a sleeper team to watch in Class 4A this season.

Despite changing coaches last week, the Rebels continue to roll, remaining unbeaten Tuesday evening with a 67-45 home victory over Mount Hermon.

Drew Soileau led the way with 17 points, Carlos Simmons had 14 points and Blake Costello finished with eight points for the Rebels.

Pearl River has beaten its opponents by an average of 22.7 points per game while averaging 76.1 points per game.

Last week, Pearl River dismissed head coach Rick Spring for undisclosed reasons and named athletic director as the Interim head coach.

Pearl River returns to action Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Einstein Charter while Mount Hermon (4-13) has lost seven straight games and returns to action Thursday at home against Varnado at 7:30 p.m.
