Boys Basketball: Country Day, Crescent City, Riverside, Phoenix in state semifinals Monday

Three area teams accustomed to playing for state championships and one upstart are in action in semifinal action today.

In Lafayette, it is the Division IV semifinals pitting district rivals Country Day, the fifth seed, against defending state champion and top seed Crescent City Christian at noon, followed by second seed Riverside Academy battling No. 3 Calvary Baptist at 2:30 p.m. Country Day has won seven state titles while Riverside has captured five.

Also today, second seed Phoenix takes on Ebarb in the Class C semifinals at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.
