Bowling: Rummel defeats Pope John Paul

Archbishop Rummel rolled a season-high 3,131 team series in a 24-3 victory over Pope John Paul II Wednesday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

The Raiders (3-0) got a 234 opening game from Blake Caire and games of 203 and 202 from Matthew Fletcher. Caire had a 559 series.

Jack Kingman led Pope John Paul (1-2) with a 494 series.

Rummel has a big early-season matchup with Archbishop Shaw in a battle of unbeatens Thursday at Westside Lanes.
