Bowling: Patrick Taylor tops Pearl River; Chapelle falls to East Ascension

Patrick Taylor had a big middle game en route to a 24½-2½ victory over Pearl River Wednesday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

The Tigers (8-3) led 6-2 after the opening game before firing a 1,050 team game and sweeping all eight points in the second game to clinch the match. Jake McInnis’ 216 led the way for Patrick Taylor.

McInnis had a 587 series and Preston Jones had a 202 final game for Patrick Taylor.

The Rebels (4-7) were led by Aaron Simon’s 478 series.

Girls – East Ascension 17, Archbishop Chapelle 10: The Spartans, despite bowling short-handed, defeated the Chipmunks at Premier Lanes in Gonzales.

Shaye Duplessis opened with a 226 game and had a 566 series to lead East Ascension.

Chapelle (8-4), which was also missing regular anchor bowler Gabrielle Fischer, ended the regular season on a three-match losing streak. It entered the week at No. 6 in the power ratings and is still in good position to reach the 16-team playoff bracket.
