LAS VEGAS – The final two rounds of the USBC’s Intercollegiate Singles Championship were contested Saturday, an event that included Metairie native and Webber International junior Adam Atkins.

The event was recorded to air on CBS Sports Network Tuesday, May 2, so stop reading now if you don’t want spoilers.

Atkins lost his semifinal match to Webber teammate AJ Wolstenholme 224-173. Wolstenholme went on to win the championship over Vincent Luong of Fresno State, 259-170.

Luong reached the final with a 204-169 win over top-seeded Austin Grammar, also from Webber.

Atkins, a 2020 graduate of East Jefferson High School, was one of 24 collegiate bowlers to advance to the national event this week. He qualified sixth after six games of qualifying Tuesday and won two matches Wednesday to punch his ticket to the televised portion of the event.
