Brother Martin’s Dylan McDonald, Jesuit’s Gary Sims, Patrick Taylor’s Preston Jones and Mount Carmel’s Taylor Hunn claimed most valuable player honors in the four high school bowling districts from the New Orleans region.

McDonald was the boys/co-ed District 2 MVP after leading the metro area and finishing second in the state with a 225 average. The Crusaders completed their eighth undefeated regular season in the last nine years and are the No. 1 seed in the state playoffs beginning next week.

Sims averaged 210 to claim District 1 MVP honors as Jesuit captured its first district championship since the LHSAA began sponsorship of bowling. The Blue Jays (10-2) are the No. 9 seed in the boys bracket.

Jesuit’s opening match comes against District 3 champion and No. 24 seed Patrick Taylor. Jones had a team-best 209 average for the Tigers.

Hunn’s 178 average was the best among girls in the metro area and brings home an MVP award in her family for the second straight year. Her older brother Ben was a district co-MVP last year at Jesuit.
