Bowling: East Ascension squads post impressive wins, Chalmette girls win by forfeit

The East Ascension boys and girls bowling teams made successful road trips Monday afternoon to Kenner, posting one-sided victories at AMF All-Star Lanes.

The Spartan boys downed Chalmette 23-4.

East Ascension took game one 7-1 behind games of 229 by Canaan Hebert and 223 by Matt Morales. Sebastian Maher fired a 224 game while Eagan Torres had a 195 for the Owls (0-2).

The Spartans won game two 6-2 as Morales had a 218 while Hebert fired a 215 game. Maher shot 206 while Timothy Melerine had a 204 game for Chalmette.

East Ascension finished off the victory with a 7-1 win in game three as Hebert finished off an impressive 680 series with a 236 game while Eddie Balser shot a big 245 game. Maher finished off an impressive 652 series with a 222 game for the Owls. Morales finished with a 607 series for the Spartans.

The Spartan Girls pitched a shutout, downing rival St. Amant 27-0.

Bailee Chapman led the way for East Ascension with a 658 series on games of 211-217-230 while Hannan Grather had a 509 series on games of 158-150-201. Alea Cocke had a 475 series with games of 167-130-178.

Rose Attuso led the Gators with a 426 series on games of 131-146-149.

The Chalmette girls won by forfeit over Holy Rosary.

Allison Deffes led the Owl girls (1-1) with a 539 series on games of 172-200-167.
