Bowling: Crescent City boys, Salmen girls win

A pair of bowling matchups between Crescent City Christian and Salmen Tuesday at Bowling USA in Slidell produced one victory for each school.

In the boys match, Crescent City dominated the first and third games for a 17-10 victory. On the girls side, Salmen pitched a 27-0 shutout.

Grant and Gregory Storms of Crescent City were the difference makers in the boys match. Grant Storms had games of 157 and 158, while Gregory Storms rolled a 144 and 149.

The Pioneers (3-4) led 7-1 after the first game before the Spartans won six of the eight points in game two. Crescent City added on to its 145-pin lead in the final game while splitting six individual matches.

Ashton Lowrance’s 145 game was the best of the day for Salmen (0-6).

In the girls match, the Spartans (5-2) dominated Crescent City (1-8), which was short-handed with just four bowlers in its lineup.

Emily Floyd paced Salmen with a 448 series, including a 163 final game. Jolie Pierce’s 118 middle game led Crescent City.

Both Pioneers teams are off until next week, while the Salmen boys face Pearl River and the girls take on Mount Carmel Thursday at Bowling USA.
