The last time Brother Martin’s bowling team lost a regular season match, Cody Schaffer and the other four Crusader seniors were not yet teenagers.

Brother Martin wrapped up a sixth consecutive perfect regular season Monday with a 22-5 victory over Holy Cross at Colonial Lanes in Harahan.

The Crusaders, as they’ve done countless times over the last six years, had the match wrapped up after the second game, building an insurmountable 14-2 lead.

Schaffer made an equipment change early in the second game and strung together seven consecutive strikes en route to a 256 game, keying a 1,235 team game for Brother Martin.

That would be the final regular-season game for four of the five Crusader seniors: Schaffer, Hunter Dunn, Will Oertling and Brandon Bonvillain.

Sophomore Drew Gardner had a 649 series to lead Brother Martin (12-0). Justin Ducote, the fifth senior on the roster, was the only other Crusader to bowl all three games.

Adam Popich had a 253 game and 628 series to lead Holy Cross (7-4), which closes its regular season Tuesday against Pearl River at Bowling USA in Slidell in a pivotal match for its postseason hopes.

Brother Martin, the defending state champions, could be seeded anywhere from first to fifth when brackets are announced next Monday.

Archbishop Shaw 26, Kenner Discovery 1: At Westside Lanes, the Eagles closed the regular season with a convincing victory over the Swamp Owls.

Lawrence Vaughn rolled a 589 series for Shaw (10-2). He was the only Eagle bowler to bowl three games. Gage Perrin and Trey Toups each averaged over 200 for two games, while Ryan Artus fired a 225 in his only game.

Konner Dillenkoffer’s 341 series paced Kenner Discovery, which ended its season at 2-10.

Shaw was No. 16 in the latest unofficial LHSAA power ratings.

Bonnabel 25, Holy Rosary 2: At AMF All Star Lanes, the Bruins’ co-ed squad ended their regular season and kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over Holy Rosary.

As of last week, Bonnabel (7-5) was No. 35 in the unofficial power ratings, with the top 32 advancing to the playoffs.

Alahna DeGruy opened with a 264 game and had a 629 series to lead Bonnabel.

Jack Weese averaged 159 for two games to lead Holy Rosary, which ended its season at 1-11.

Archbishop Rummel 24, St. Augustine 3: Also at AMF, the Raiders closed out the regular season with a win over the Purple Knights.

Rummel senior Quin Cadella closed with a 215 and had a team-high 568 series. St. Augustine’s Rion Sam led all bowlers with a 577 set, which included a 229 middle game.

At No. 24 in the unofficial LHSAA power ratings, Rummel (9-3) will await its playoff matchup. St. Augustine ended its season at 5-7.

Jesuit def. Chalmette: The Blue Jays defeated the Owls by forfeit. Jesuit (11-1) is a likely top eight seed in the playoffs. Chalmette ended its season at 3-9.
