Belle Chasse, E.D. White, Vandebilt Catholic, SJA, Catholic among cross country state title winners

Belle Chasse captured the Class 4A state cross country championship Tuesday at Northwestern State.

The Cardinals were led by Louden Boudreaux, who captured the individual state championship in a time of 16:15.6.

Catholic High of Baton Rouge won the boys 5A state title with Jesuit finishing second and Brother Martin third. Evan Pardo of St. Paul’s finished second in the individual competition. Dyllon Nimmers of Ruston was the individual champion in a time of 15:17.2.

E.D. White Catholic won both the boys and girls Class 3A state titles. Cayden Boudreaux of Albany won the girls individual competition in a time of 18:57.7 while Ivan Appleton of St. Louis Catholic took the boys title in 15:27.9.

The girls 4A team title went to Vandebilt Catholic with St. Scholastica finishing fourth. Ella Chestnut of Vandebilt Catholic took the individual title in a time of 18:51.

St. Joseph’s Academy won the Class 5A team title. Dominican was second with Mount Carmel Academy third and Fontainebleau finishing fourth.

Kelsey Major of Dominican captured the individual state title in a time of 18:33.5.

Course: 3-mile course that starts flat for 2 miles, with a hill around the 2.5 mile mark. The course is run on grass, finishing on the track at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex.
