St. Paul’s is clearly the team to beat in District 6-5A.

The Wolves are one of the teams to beat in Division I on a statewide basis.

Narrowly trailing Scotlandville for the top spot in the most recent LHSAA power rankings, the Wolves rolled over Ponchatoula 47-30 at home Thursday night.

St. Paul’s led 13-7 after one quarter and 22-17 at halftime. It was 35-26 going to the final frame.

Zach Fenn led the Wolves with 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals while Jeremy Autin had 11 points and four rebounds. Andrew Zibilich had nine points, four rebounds and two assists and Blake Davis added eight points and five rebounds.

Allen Graves led the Green Wave with 11 points and seven rebounds while Jordan Thomas finished with nine points and five rebounds.

St. Paul’s (17-3, 6-0) is heading to Shreveport to play Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Hoopfest Extravaganza Classic against Calvary Baptist and will return to district lay next Tuesday at Fontainebleau.

Ponchatoula (11-9, 3-3) will host Hammond Tuesday at 7:30 p.m
