Basketball: Bonnabel boys, Karr girls win Thursday

Area Prep Basketball Report for Friday, Nov. 17

In boys prep basketball action Thursday, Bonnabel whipped Terrebonne 75-33 at The Bear Trap in Kenner.

Aumad Hackett led the Bruins with 17 points, while Omar de la Rosa and Jeremiah Lucas each scored 15 points.

Bonnabel (1-1) will next face St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday at Holy Cross.

The Tigers (1-1) will host Ellender on Nov. 27.

In girls action, Karr defeated Phoenix 76-49 at home.

The Lady Cougars took a 20-12 lead after one quarter and expanded the advantage to 44-20 by halftime. It was 59-38 going to the fourth quarter.

Superb freshman Cass Antoine led Karr with 24 points, senior Selena Franklin had 11 points and Makayla Hartford finished with 10 points.

Karr (1-1) will host Landry Nov. 28.

Phoenix (2-3) returns to action this evening at Grand Isle at 5 p.m.
