Area Prep Baseball Report for Sunday, March 24

Northshore parlayed excellent pitching with solid hitting into a 10-0 victory Saturday at Fontainebleau in Mandeville in a game shortened to six innings by the mercy rule.

The Panthers got single runs in the top of the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead before scoring three in the fourth and four in the top of the fifth to make it 9-0. Northshore finished it with a run in the sixth inning.

Carson Lore made the lead stand up, pitching a complete game three-hitter with one strikeout to pick up the win. Lore added two hits at the plate. Christian Garcia had two hits and three RBI while Brayden Jobert had three hits and an RBI. Branyan Bounds also drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers (9-9, 2-1). Fontainebleau dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-3 in District 6-5A play

The two teams will play the second game of the series Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Northshore.
