Baseball Report: Newman takes district title with win over Fisher

Area Prep Baseball Report for Friday, April 5

In the only area game which was able to be played on a rain-soaked Thursday, Newman clinched the District 12-2A championship with a 4-1 home victory over Fisher at Avenger Field.

The Greenies end district play 5-1 and have now won seven of nine games to improve to 12-15 overall.

Newman returns to action Saturday at Archbishop Hannan at 2:30 p.m. while Fisher (10-6, 1-2) will host South Plaquemines Tuesday at 5 p.m. in district play.
