Baseball Report: Destrehan, Hahnville open series Monday with district title at stake
Area Prep Baseball Report for Monday, April 15
The great River Parish rivalry is renewed Monday afternoon when Destrehan hosts Hahnville in the first of a two-game series with a District 7-5A title on the line.
Destrehan (20-8, 10-0) has turned it on in district play, winning eight straight games.
Hahnville (12-16, 8-2) have come on strong after a very slow start to the season. The Tigers have won 10 of their last 13 games to move into the top 32 in Class 5A and in playoff position and they must sweep the Wildcats to tie for the district title. Should Destrehan win one of the two games, including Wednesday afternoon at Hahnville, the Wildcats will be the district champion.
