Area Prep Baseball Report for Saturday, April 3

When you do not allow the opponent to put the ball in play, you are going to win.

Charles Green did that to the very best of his ability, striking out 18 Warren Easton hitters in a 5-3 victory at RBI Field at Wesley Barrow Stadium Friday.

Green walked three and hit a batter.

While Green was terrific on the mount, it took a final inning rally for the Cougars to overcome their rival.

Trailing 3-2 going to the top of the seventh inning, Kamau Dorsey changed the outcome with a two-run single and the Cougars added an insurance run.

Green nailed down the win with a scoreless frame in the bottom of the seventh.

Jirrea Johnson had a pair of hits, including a triple for Warren Easton.

Karr (11-6) won its fourth straight game and the Cougars will host New Orleans Military Maritime Academy Monday at 4 p.m. in a District 10-4A contest at the Urban Youth Academy.

The Eagles (6-7) lost their fourth straight game and will host Ben Franklin Tuesday at 4 p.m. in a District 11-4A contest at Wesley Barrow.
