Hahnville sweeps East St. John (Ken Trahan)

Hahnville played a very challenging non-district schedule and struggled to a losing record.

Now, the tough competition is playing off in district play.

Hahnville remained unbeaten in District 7-5A play Sunday, sweeping East St. John in a doubleheader by scores of 11-0 and 26-0.

In game one, Noah Chauvin picked up the win, going three innings, striking out five, with Landon Cortez finishing up on the mound with three strikeouts in two innings. Aidan Machado went 4 for 4 to lead the Hahnville attack. Chase Morales had three hits and two RBI while Talan Theriot had two hits and two RBI.

In the second game, Brady Babin picked up the win and went 4 for 4 at the plate in an outstanding performance in a game shortened to 4 ½ innings. Babin allowed just one hit and struck out eight. The Tigers banged out 11 hits. Hunter Martin had two hits and four RBI while Charles Mays drove in three runs.

Hahnville (11-14, 4-0) has won six straight games. The Tigers a two game district series at Thibodaux Tuesday at 6 p.m. East St. John (1-21, 0-6) travels to Destrehan Thursday 4 p.m.
