During The Mackel Louisiana PGA-Mississippi PGA Cup Matches banquet held in New Orleans, PGA Tour veteran Kelly Gibson received the prestigious Barbato-Thomas Award given to an individual who has given unselfishly for the good of the game and support of the PGA Golf Professional.

In my 34 winters in the golf business in the New Orleans area, I have seen some chilly weather. I knew this year in particular was a cold one. We know December was the wettest on record with 25.92 inches.

Bienville founded New Orleans in 1718, we won the Battle of New Orleans in 1815, Audubon Golf Club was founded in 1898 (oldest in Louisiana) and in 2010 the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl. These are dates that will never be forgotten in New Orleans.
