Riverdale boys, girls blank Sarah Reed

Area Prep Soccer Report for Friday, Jan. 14

It was a good day for Riverdale on the pitch.

The Rebel boys edged Sarah Reed 1-0 while the Riverdale girls whipped the Olympians 6-0 at Jefferson Playground Friday.

In the girls matchup, Carmen Hernandez and Ashley Vallederas were the stars, with each recording a hat trick, scoring all six goals in the first half.

The Riverdale boys improved to 5-3-3 and will next host Destrehan Monday at 5:30 p.m. while the Rebel girls are now 6-5-1 and will travel to Salmen Tuesday at 5 p.m. in a District 6-II battle.
