Archbishop Shaw vs. St. Augustine to be aired live on internet, radio

You can watch and listen to the Catholic League contest pitting St. Augustine against Archbishop Shaw Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium.

The live webstream will be available at CrescentCitySports.com and through the LHSAA LIVE APP while the audio broadcast will be aired on 106.1 FM NASH ICON.

Mario Jerez will have the call on CrescentCitySports.com, along with Eric Held and Kate Adams.

Both teams will be in search of their first District 9-5A victory.

The Purple Knights (4-4, 0-4) are coming off of a tough 16-12 loss to unbeaten Archbishop Rummel, a game which they led 12-0.

St. Augustine is led by junior quarterback Kendell Sampson, who has passed for 1,175 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 259 yards and three scores. Junior Mahmood Bailey is the leading rusher with 350 yards and four touchdowns. Memphis commit Khi Mathieu, a junior, has 15 catches for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, end Byron Tuener has six sacks and an interception while free safety Edward Gilds III has 31 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Archbishop Shaw (2-6, 0-5) is coming off of a 34-3 loss to Jesuit.

The Eagles are led by senior quarterback Tyler Nichol, who has passed for 714 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for a score. Freshman Clint Langford is the top rusher with 408 yards and two scores while freshman Michael Williams has 24 catches for 387 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, senior lineman Roy Pate has 33 tackles, including four sacks with a fumble recovery while junior linebacker leads with 52 tackles, including four sacks.
