Archbishop Shaw, Vandebilt Catholic win Allstate Sugar Bowl Cross Country Meet

Archbishop Shaw edged out Brother Martin with John Curtis third while Vandebilt Catholic ran away with the girls title Saturday at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Cross Country Meet in City Park.

Shaw won by placing three runners in the top seven and six in the final 18 finishers, led by Jaden Morton, who finished fifth. Emanuel Ochoa of Brother Martin was fourth.

John Curtis had the top three finishers, including individual champion Justin Unger, who won in a time of 17:13.20.

Vandebilt Catholic easily captured the girls competition as its runners dominated, taking the first seven spots overall. Brynn Kelson of the Terriers won the individual title in a time of 19:38.55.
