Shaw’s Collins turns in 819 series
Bowlers will tell you that a perfect 300 game is hard, but an 800 series is harder, because it requires excellence over three games with little margin for error.
Archbishop Shaw’s Joshua Collins did the latter Sunday night in the Over Under league at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.
Collins, who will be a junior for the Eagles next season, had an 819 series on games of 278, 279 and 262.
Though his chances of a 300 were quickly erased each game, Collins threw 30 of a possible 35 strikes. He strung eight straight strikes from the 4th through 10th frames in game 1, nine straight strikes after an opening spare in game 2 and closed the night with 10 consecutive strikes.
