Andrew Whitworth announces his retirement from the NFL
A legend at LSU and West Monroe High School is leaving the NFL on top.
Offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth, recently named Walter Payton Man of the Year and crowned as a Super Bowl Champion for the first time in his final NFL season, is retiring from football.
The 40-year-old announced his retirement on Tuesday.
A four-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro, Whitworth played 16 seasons including his final five with the Rams.
The epitome of a leader.

Whitworth was a member of the 2004 LSU team that captured the BCS National Championship.
