The Class 1A LHSAA state playoff bracket is clearly the weakest of the nine classifications.

In the 24 team field, 13 teams have losing records, a less than impressive resume.

Logansport is the top seed, despite having just a 6-4 record.

The Tigers lost their first four games of the season against very tough competition before ripping off six straight wins, averaging 46 points per game in those six victories.

Homer is the second seed.

The Pelicans (7-3) have a real shot at winning the title, having lost to very good teams in North Caddo, Calvary Baptist and Union Parish.

Homer enters the playoffs off a huge 49-0 win over Haynesville.

Grand Lake is the third seed.

The Hornets (9-1) have the most impressive record in the class, with a three-point loss to Hamilton Christian as their only blemish.

Perhaps the most dangerous team, if not the favorite to win 1A, is Oak Grove.

The fourth-seeded Tigers (6-4) are the 2-time defending state champion.

Their losses were to higher classification teams in Mangham and Sterlington, along with Division IV top seed Ouachita Christian and to Cedar Creek.

There is a lack of depth in the field so there is no double-digit seed that appears to be a threat.

A semifinal showdown looms between Logansport and Oak Grove while Homer is likely to emerge from the bottom of the bracket.
