Eddie Robinson, Jr.

Alabama State University has named Eddie Robinson Jr. as the 30th head football coach in program history.

Robinson, a Brother Martin alum, walked on at ASU and eventually became the two-time SWAC Defensive Player of the Year (1990 and 1991). The NFL second round pick spent 11 years in the league with the Houston Oilers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills before retiring in 2002.

Alabama State is replacing Donald Hill-Eley, who fired this month after posting a 20-21 record over the past five years with the Hornets.
