Academy of Our Lady remains unbeaten in bowling

Academy of Our Lady maintained its unbeaten start to the high school bowling season with a 26-1 victory over Kenner Diiscovery Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

Erin Burkart got the Penguins off to a big start in the opening game with a 255. Lauryn Hartsell added a 181 as AOL jumped on top with a 988 team score in game one.

The Penguins won every match in the second and third games, with Hartsell leading the way in each game with a 173 and 178, respectively.

Burkart finished with a team-high 569 series, followed by Hartsell’s 532.

AOL and the other area bowling teams are off for Mardi Gras week. The Penguins return to action with a key matchup Feb. 19 against Archbishop Chapelle.
