Softball: Kenner Discovery handles St. Martin’s in run-rule win

Area Prep Softball Report for Thursday, Mar. 5

On a day where most games were postponed due to weather issues, Kenner Discovery took care of business, winning 18-2 at St. Martin’s Episcopal in a game shortened to four innings by the mercy rule.

The Swamp Owls scored three runs in the top of the first inning but the Saints answered with two in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2.

From there, Kenner Discovery took over, scoring four runs in the second inning, six in the third and finishing it off with five runs in the fourth inning for the victory.

Alex Peavey had a hit and drove in a run for St. Martin’s (0-1).

Kenner Discovery (2-2) returns to action today, hosting Abramson Sci Academy at 5 p.m. while the Saints will host Fisher today at 4 p.m.
