Warren Easton, McDonogh 35 boys, girls square off Monday
A rivalry is renewed when the boys and girls of Warren Easton and McDonogh 35 square off at Warren Easton Monday with the girls playing at 4 p.m. and the boys to follow at 5:30 p.m.
The Roneagles (10-10) had a huge win in the Purple Knight tournament at St. Augustine, beating defending Class 5A state champion Landry-Walker. They lost their last two games in the event to very good teams in Sophie B. Wright and Bonnabel.
The Eagles (12-8) are coming off of a 55-29 win over Ben Franklin at the Purple Knights Tournament.
Warren Easton downed McDonogh 35 by a 54-45 count on Nov. 18 at the Grace King Tournament.
The Easton girls (10-8) played in the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic this past week, winning their last game over Madison Prep and posting a victory against New Iberia.
The Roneagle girls (4-12) have lost their last six games.
