Notre Dame-Crowley football coach Lewis Cook and his staff presented three proposals at the football coaches’ forum at the 2015 LHSCA’s Coaches Clinic. All of them involved placing LHSAA schools into playoff brackets based on their location in relation to one of eight Louisiana metro areas – Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans, Northshore/I10 and Shreveport.

Many coaches support the idea of a Metro-Rural postseason system rather than the current Select/Non-Select split used by the LHSAA and expanded to several other team sports beyond the original football split in 2013.

The current version of the Metro-Rural proposal is explained in detail by the videos below and supported by the Louisiana Football Coaches Association (LFCA).
