Tulane Bowling remains No. 9 in NTCA Top 25 Poll

NEW ORLEANS – After a pair of solid performances in January, Tulane Bowling held its No. 9 national ranking in the February National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.

The Green Wave finished in the top five in stacked tournaments at Arkansas State and Kutztown in last month. The Wave collected eight top-25 victories in those two tournaments, including three wins against fellow top-10 teams.

This season, Tulane has finished second at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational, 10th at the Sam Houston State Track Kat Klash, eighth at the UMES Hawk Classic, fifth at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Invitational and fourth at the Kutztown Invitational.

Of the teams currently ranked in the top 10 nationally, the Green Wave own victories over No. 2 Nebraska (now ranked No. 1), No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 6 Delaware State, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin and No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore. Tulane also owns wins over No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 13 UAB, St. Francis (Pa.), No. 15 Central Missouri, No. 16 LIU Brooklyn and No. 17 North Carolina A&T.

Tulane is one of seven Southland Bowling League programs ranked in the NTCA Top 25, including No. 3 Arkansas State, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Sam Houston State, No. 7 Stephen F. Austin, No. 19 Louisiana Tech and No. 25 Valparaiso.

The Green Wave return to action Feb. 16-18 at the SFA Jacks Invitational in Houston.
