With weather ruling the day and a problem throughout South Louisiana, many of Saturday’s soccer matches were canceled.

Among those that were played, many were stopped at halftime or in the second half due to rain and lightning.

Holy Cross jumped out to a 2-0 lead and held off St. Charles Catholic 2-1. Sinjin Mills scored the deciding goal for the Tigers. Holy Cross (14-3-2) will host Country Day Monday afternoon.

Riverdale downed Landry-Walker 2-0 as Antonio Romero scored both goals for the Rebels (14-0-1). Riverdale goes for a district championship Monday evening in a showdown against Ben Franklin at Jefferson Playground at 7 p.m.
