Soccer: Carver beats Bonnabel, Newman heads to Jesuit

In boys soccer action Sunday, Carver won a home match, downing Bonnabel 3-1 to snap a four-match losing streak.

The Rams (6-6-2) return to action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Hahnville while the Bruins (8-10-2), who have lost three straight matches, host John Ehret at 6 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium this evening.

In a top match this evening, Newman (14-3) travels to Metairie to take on Jesuit (17-3-5) at John Ryan Stadium at 7 p.m. The Blue Jays have won four straight matches and have not lost since Dec. 22 at St. Paul’s. The Greenies have won 10 of their last 11 matches. Jesuit is 16th and rising in the latest LHSAA Division I power rankings while Newman is fourth in the Division IV power rankings.
