According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Saints will work out a pair of veteran cornerbacks – Eunice and LSU product Tharold Simon and former Bills and Eagles starter Leodis McKelvin.

Simon, a former Seahawks fifth round pick, spent 2013-2015 with Seattle including their Super Bowl XLVIII championship season. After he was released in September 2016, the 6-foot-3 Simon spent time with the Cardinals and Redskins organizations but did not play. He has one career interception.

McKelvin, a former first round pick who turns 32 next month on Labor Day, was released by the Eagles in February after one season with the club. Before that. the Troy product spent eight years with the Bills.

the 5-foot-10, 190 pounder has 15 career interceptions including two last season, one returned for a touchdown (the sixth of his NFL career).

Saints starting corner Delvin Breaux has been sidelined with a leg injury and first-round pick Marshon Lattimore has been out most of training camp with a knee issue. Neither played in the preseason opener Thursday against the Browns, leaving the Saints short on numbers and depth at corner.
