Looking to gain valuable experience for its new look offense against a quality opponent on the road, Rummel was eagerly awaiting a significant challenge at Escambia High School in Pensacola tonight. The anticipation has disappeared.

The game has been canceled due to the threat of Hurricane Irma looming large over the entire state of Florida.

Governor Rick Scott closed all Florida public schools, eliminating the possibility of the game being played. Both teams are 1-0 after Escambia blanked Shaw 34-0 in Harvey while Rummel downed Gulfport, MS 31-0 in Metairie last week.

The Raiders return to action on Saturday, Sept. 16 against Riverside in a battle of state powers in a game that you can watch live at CrescentCitySports.com and will be broadcast as well on WGSO, 990 AM.
