New Orleans Saints & New Orleans Pelicans announce contributions to charities directly assisting in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts
NEW ORLEANS –New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans Owners Tom and Gayle Benson announced today their financial assistance will begin with the following charitable and relief organizations that have been directly on the ground assisting in the relief efforts of Hurricane Harvey: SBP, Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana – Southwest Louisiana Flood Fund, Second Harvest Food Bank/Feeding Texas.
“Unfortunately, we know as well as anyone the devastation and the monumental tasks that lay ahead for the residents directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” said Mr. and Mrs. Benson in a joint statement. “Through our experience with Hurricane Katrina and other major storms, we’ve come into contact with so many tremendous charities and relief organizations.”

“We admire the efforts of the First Responders as well as the volunteers who have rushed into Texas and Southwest Louisiana to offer assistance,” added Mr. and Mrs. Benson. “We have pledged financial support to some tremendous organizations that we work closely with not only in times of dire need but also throughout the year. Our thoughts and prayers are with those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and we are inspired by all of those people that have stepped forward and pledged their support.”
In addition, proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle during tonight’s Saints vs. Ravens game will be donated to the American Red Cross.
Furthermore, proceeds from the Saints-conducted 50/50 raffle during the LSU vs. BYU game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be donated to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts.
