LHSAA and Cox Sports Television extend partnership agreement

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) and Cox Sports Television (CST) have agreed to continue their partnership agreement. The extension will keep designated state championship events and the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Pairings Show on the regional sports network.

CST, a regional sports network based in New Orleans, has been in existence since 2002. The relationship between CST and the LHSAA began in the network’s infancy with a weekly football game of the week and coverage of state championship events.

“We are very pleased to have such a positive partnership with CST,” stated LHSAA Executive Director Eddie Bonine. “Their reputation and continued willingness to provide positive programming and expose of Louisiana high school athletics through their broadcasts is greatly appreciated and has not gone unnoticed.”

High school fans can tune in to CST on November 5 for the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Pairings Show. The very popular pairings show begins Louisiana high school football’s “road to the dome” as it announces the state’s playoff brackets. The Prep Pairings Show will be seen live from the CST Studio in New Orleans from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

“It has been an honor for CST to showcase great Louisiana high school athletes and their schools for the past fifteen years”, stated CST VP Rod Mickler. “We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with the LHSAA and look forward to CST continuing to be home for great Louisiana championship events and shows”.

The agreement allows CST to air all Prep Classic Championship games live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans December 7-9. The 2018 basketball season will also see CST coverage of all 12 Girls’ Marsh Madness championship games from the Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria (February 29-March 3) and all 12 Boys’ Marsh Madness championship games from Burton Coliseum Complex in Lake Charles (March 5-10).

The Prep Pairings Show and all championships will be streamed live on the NFHS Network. Subscription plans cost $9.95/month.

The LHSAA formed in 1920 in Baton Rouge and currently serves 396 schools, 93,000 student-athletes, 12,000 coaches and 5,000 officials.
