Holy Cross senior running back Landen Bates has been chosen as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, CrescentCitySports.com and WGSO, 990 AM Prep Player of the Week for Week 5 of the prep football season.

Bates rushed for 26 times for 218 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown run on the Tigers’ first play from scrimmage, as Holy Cross downed arch-rival Jesuit 31-17 in the Great American Rivalry Series at Tad Gormley Stadium.

Bates will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club on Dec. 12 at Rock ‘n’ Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans.

The Quarterback Club meets each Tuesday at Rock ‘n’ Bowl with speakers on the New Orleans Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football, along with wild card speakers from the world of sports. The luncheons are open to the public with lunch served. The cost is $25 for non-members and $20 for members. Annual membership is $50.
