Holy Cross edges Pearl River on lanes

KENNER – In a highly competitive match, Holy Cross did a little more in the final game to take a 17-10 victory over Pearl River Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes.

The teams battled through a very tight first two games, with Holy Cross taking a 5-3 lead after the first game thanks to a four-pin edge (997-993) in total pins.

In game two, not only did the teams split the six individual matches again, but they tied in total pins at 1,055 apiece, splitting the two bonus points and leaving the Tigers with a 9-7 advantage heading into the final game.

Holy Cross used its depth to prevail in the final game. Logan Puissegur rolled a 211 in the leadoff position to pace the Tigers.

Zachary Handlin led the winners with a 592 series, including a 230 middle game. Bryan Arena finished with a 555.

Christian Kelch led Pearl River with a 676 series on games of 194-245-237. Cameron Kelch had a 632 set, including games of 234 and 203.

Both teams face rivals in their next match. Holy Cross meets Chalmette at AMF on Monday, while Pearl River faces Salmen at Bowling USA in Slidell on Tuesday.
