Greg Gilmore lay in his bed Thursday recovering from a grinding morning leg workout when his phone rang.

It was Phil Savage, the Senior Bowl’s executive director. “How would you like to play in our game?” Savage said to Gilmore, the two-year starting LSU nose tackle.

“I almost started shedding a tear,” Gilmore said in an interview Thursday afternoon. Read more from The Advocate.

Gilmore joins former Tigers line mate Christian LaCouture and running back Darrel Williams as Senior Bowl late invites.
