Devin Brumfield of Covington named metro Prep Player of Week

Covington senior running back Devin Brumfield has been named the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club, CrescentCitySports.com and Friday Night Football Prep Player of the Week for week seven of the prep football season.

Brumfield rushed 35 times for 262 yards and a touchdown as Covington remained unbeaten with a 28-23 District 6-5A victory over Northshore.

Brumfield is coached by Greg Salter. He will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation Quarterback Club on Dec. 12.

The Quarterback Club meets weekly on Tuesday’s at noon at Rock ‘n’ Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans with speakers on the Saints, LSU, Tulane and prep football weekly. Admission is $20 for members, $25 for non-members and it is open to the public.
