The injured right shoulder of Tampa Bay starting quarterback Jameis Winston will keep him out of the lineup for at least a couple of weeks.

One man’s pain is another’s opportunity.

Former New Orleans Saints and Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin was activated by the Buccaneers from the injured reserve list on Tuesday.

Griffin was placed on injured reserve on September 4 after suffering a shoulder injury during the preseason at Jacksonville.

Undrafted in 2013 after serving as Tulane’s starter for three season, the Los Angeles product Griffin spent most of his first two NFL season on the practice squad with New Orleans. The soon-to-be 28-year old has been Tampa Bay’s third string quarterback since 2015.

The Bucs will start Ryan Fitzpatrick this week against the New York Jets in place of Winston.
