Brother Martin bowling dominates in victory over Central

Brother Martin’s bowling team got off to a fast start and rolled to a 24-3 victory over Central Thursday at Premier Lanes in Gonzales.

The Crusaders (6-0) shot a 1,355 opening game, led by Cody Schaffer’s 279 and Will Oertling’s 257.

Brother Martin clinched the match by building a 14-2 lead after the second game. Drew Gardner had a 278.

In the third game, Schaffer rolled a 249 to finish with a 721 series, while Gardner had a 237 to complete a team-best 741 series.

Beau Villarreal posted two of the three match victories for Central and had a 574 series. Dell Dickerson had the other win and rolled a 569 set.

The Crusaders and the rest of the area teams are off for Mardi Gras week before returning to action Feb. 19.
